started bowling left arm fast with tape ball at the age of 12 years. When he reached at the age of 16
immediately after 1992 world cup, he started playing with hardball.
Career in Pakistan
Young Alliance Cricket Club is the team who gave him opportunity to start his career. Rashid played
hundreds of friendly matches, dozens of tournaments and senior league from Karachi Zone-II. Amongst
his fellow cricketers, Sohail Khan and Saeed Bin Nasir are the famous ones.
Career in UAE
In 2008, Rashid moved to Dubai and did not play cricket until he joined Decepticons Cricket Club in 2012.
He continued playing for Decepticons until he joined Wombats in 2013. In 2014, he got fracture in his left
thumb, which is his bowling arm, and his career was over as per doctors. However, passion for cricket
and self believe gave him strength to do a comeback. He showed an outstanding performance during
2015 England tour where he was leading wicket taker from wombats during four matches series. Despite
the fact that he had broken thumb he bowled very well.
Rashid is a left arm medium fast bowler. His ability to swing the ball both ways is his core weapon. Not
only this but also he has the ability to vary the pace with the same action which is devastating in modern
days of cricket.
Rashid is a handy batsman. Cover drives and square cuts are his favorite shorts. He has won couple of
nail biter matches by splendid display of batting under pressure.
Rashid used to be a very good fielder. He was the best fielder for Young Alliance during his career in
Pakistan. His ability to take high catches in outfield made him most reliable fielder. However, in Dubai he
could not displayed the same and trying hard to get his skills back.
