If it is true that Cricket is a metaphor for life, Omar’s passion for the game only reflects his ambitions off it. As a founding member of the club, he has been responsible for driving some of Wombats key offerings.

Whilst Omar has always loved and played cricket, moving from Canada to Dubai in early 2011 gave him the ideal opportunity to embrace the game he loves. A loud, expressive and energetic personality was ideally suited to the Wicket Keeping role, a position he has made his own from the very beginning. Scoring more than 700 runs in each of the past two seasons, Omar has been instrumental in the club’s successes. Proudly representing the Wombats Yellows squad in 2015-16, his hard work was rewarded in the 2016-17 season where he currently keeps wickets for the Wombats Blacks squad.

The Wombats name is near and dear to his heart and growing the brand is one of the most important deliverables of his Board of Director position.

A wise man once said ‘if you want to go fast, go alone…if you want to go far, go together’. Witnessing the Wombats growth as the biggest, most organized club in the UAE, running the largest amateur league in the UAE as been nothing less than spectacular..but the best is yet to come. As sponsors and partners flock to be associated with this success story, his focus remains on member engagement, brand development and creating an eco-system of cricketing excellence.
