A die hard football fan and a highly talented & skilled batsman, Haroon transitioned from an erratic cricketer to a consistent match-winner while playing in Pakistan. He carried the same form to his Dubai debut in 2010 when he scored a match winning 70 runs with the bat, took 2 wickets and 3 catches in an all-round display for Gemalto at the Oval Ground in ICC, Dubai Sports City – home of cricket. However, it wasn’t until 2011, when he formally shifted to Dubai as a working professional did he get to play at ICC again.
2011 saw Haroon team up with Tauseef Qadri and Kashif Javed to form WOMBATs. As the Club grew, He continued to play a pivotal role in its performance and led the side till 2014 when he got injured and had to take time off from the Game. He was back on field after a brief break in 2015 when again he took over the responsibility of captaining the Club Team from Tauseef.
Lead strong, Bat to the situation, Bowl economically and field with aggression. Always out think the opposition.
A highly talented batsman, Haroon scored almost at will during 2011, 2012 and 2013 where he would remain the highest run scorer, with season scores of 676 runs in 2012-13 and 951 runs in 2015-16. He bowls his off spinners with guile and has taken bucket loads of wickets, bringing him a maiden best bowler of the tournament as well. He is a live wire on the field and his fielding has remained exceptional. He has taken a lot of catches and effected many run outs. In fact, his fielding remained his best suite with some breathtaking catches and world class run outs to his credit.
Dubai Super League T25 circuit competition had undeniably produced an exciting batsman. Haroon’s uncomplicated hitting has become a feature of his game. His swagger, breathtaking power of clean hitting and clearing the fence, quick running and penchant for switch-hitting have made him a menace to the opposition.
Currently Haroon is back on the field after an ACL operation and hopes to land a DSL trophy.
