Ali has grown up in the UAE and been passionate about the sport since the age of 13. He was privileged
to play in one of the best academies in the UAE, Young Talents, where he had the opportunity to play
against the nations best along with various, overseas teams from the UK, New Zealand and India in
some of the best facilities in the UAE.

After four years of intermittent cricket in Canada, Ali returned to the UAE and joined the Wombats in
2014 looking to revive his career. He got involved from the get-go as a middle order batsman, scoring 600
odd runs in 2014 and then after getting an opportunity up the order as opener, scoring 900+ runs in
2015. Ali is also an enthusiastic leg spin bowler who celebrates extravagantly when getting wickets,
almost as wildly as Imran Tahir. He considers himself a good fielder in throwing himself around and
saving runs for his team, both infield and outfield. Ali has taken part in the unforgettable Wombats tours
of the UK and Bahrain, which has been wonderfully fascinating.

For his day job, he works at PwC as a management consultant and enjoys doing calisthenics and
various workouts in his spare time; he is very passionate about fitness.
Ali looks forward to perform at exceptional standards for Wombats and score over a 1000 runs this
season, as well as contributing with the ball
